Jin Im
Ms. Im received her J.D. from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law in 2009. During law school, Ms. Im was a member of the Hastings Constitutional Law Quarterly. She also worked as a law clerk for the Major Crimes Division of the United States Attorney's Office (Northern District of California) where she made federal court appearances, managed her own caseload, and issued dispositions for federal citations. Ms. Im also gained experience in state court as a judicial extern for the Honorable Kevin McCarthy of the San Francisco Superior Court and as a law clerk for the San Francisco District Attorney's Office. At the SFDA, she gained extensive oral advocacy and legal writing and research experience by working for the homicide, sexual assault, gangs, and misdemeanor units. Prior to joining McDowell, Shaw & Colman, Ms. Im was a Deputy District Attorney for the Sacramento District Attorney's Office. She conducted bench and jury trials for over forty-five cases and managed a challenging caseload. Ms. Im also gained valuable civil litigation skills while working at Bohbot and Riles, LLP, in Oakland. Ms. Im is a member of the State Bar of California, the American Bar Association, and the Asian American Bar Association of the Greater Bay Area.
