James J. Slone
From 1990-1994, he was an associate with the insurance defense litigation firm of Gassett, Perry & Frank. Mr. Slone then joined the Allstate Insurance Company Staff Counsel, from 1994-2002, where the majority of his practice was special investigation unit cases. Thereafter, he was promoted to Lead Counsel, managing the entire San Jose Legal Staff Counsel office. From 2002-2005, he was with the California State Automobile Association (CSAA) Staff Counsel. Mr. Slone joined McDowell, Meshot & Shaw in 2005. Mr. Slone has more than 16 years experience as an insurance defense litigation attorney in the personal injury arena. He has tried sixteen jury trials to verdict, winning fifteen of them. He has won jury trials in Santa Clara County, Alameda County, San Francisco County and Contra Costa County. He has successfully handled hundreds of arbitrations and mediations. Mr. Slone has lectured at several seminars on the topic of recent developments in special investigation unit cases. He is a member of the State Bar of California, the Contra Costa County Bar Association and the Northern California Fraud Investigators Association. He has volunteered his time to serve as a Judge in the High School Moot Court Competition, and as a youth basketball coach in the San Ramon Valley YMCA, and as a youth baseball coach in the Danville Little League.
