Shelley O’Connor has over 30 years of litigation experience. She has represented plaintiffs and defendants in personal injury, breach of contract, earth movement, construction defect cases, and landlord-tenant cases. She has won appeals in the California Courts of Appeal and jury trials in Superior Court. She has substantial experience deposing witnesses, arguing motions and facilitating creative settlements in mediation. Currently, her practice focuses successfully defending individuals and corporations in complex civil cases during all phases of litigation at McDowell Shaw Garcia & Patton. Previously, she represented defendants in personal injury cases as house counsel for Farmers Insurance and she represented plaintiffs in personal injury and breach of contract cases at another private firm.
Ms. O’Connor earned her J.D. from the University of Oregon School of Law and her B.A. in Environmental Studies from the University of California Santa Barbara.
Ms. O’Connor is licensed to practice in state and federal courts in the State of California. She is a member of the Appellate Section of the Contra Costa County Bar Association.
